Oscar (He/Him)
How do you define gender?
I always thought of it as a social cue I missed, but now it's something
I can do to feel joyfully present in my life!
What color is your gender?
A warm, dark brown.
Describe your gender identity.
I am a transgender man.
Describe your gender expression.
I prefer my hair short. I enjoy "men's clothes" and menswear styles. Traditionally masculine things give me a thrill- leather wallets, cologne,
suits, shaving and leaving a bad mustache, thinking about lifting weights more, grilling, online shopping for multitools I don't need, holding the door, whiskey tasting, my voice dropping when I say "let's goooo", bro-ing out with my dudes.

How do you define gender?
A chaotic mixture of outward expression and inner perception that is unique to the individual. It is absolutely a personal journey that everyone deserves to embark on and reflect upon.
What color is your gender?
Yellow and oranges and blues and purples. I'm thinking like dusk, evening vibes.
Describe your gender identity.
I'm nonbinary, mainly because I don't see myself fitting into what the gender binary has to offer. Sometimes I feel comfortable in my body and sometimes I don't; changing my outward expression of gender helps with that sometimes and
sometimes it doesn't. I kinda view it as gender growing pains, but it's a constant process of evolution with no marked end. It's an experience that is intrinsically a part of my being, regardless of the sex I was born as.
Describe your gender expression.
It varies on the day. But I like expressing within a character archetype or some sort of androgynous/gender fuckery. Character examples include studious academic, fancy professional, or tired college student. When I say gender fuckery, I mean subversion of traditional gender expressions and mixing what society deems to be the masculine and feminine. This can look like vibrant
makeup with oversized, masculine fits or crop tops with cargo pants. I also bounce around with the length and styling of my hair when the mood strikes. I'm currently growing it out to try and capture the vibe of historical male characters.

How do you define gender?
Gender is whatever you and all your friends say it is but it’s also what you
and all your friends believe about it because of how we were all raised. It’s probably an aesthetic? Also a philosophy or politic? Something that’s made up but also real. It’s probably the opposite of what our dads thinks it is.
What color is your gender?
Maybe silent movie colors. The kinds of grays and yellows that are warm. I don’t really know though.
Describe your gender identity.
Philosophically nonbinary but also emotionally non-binary. Queer in that this
identity is alive.
Describe your gender expression.
I probably present more masc because I was raised that way. But I don’t feel masc or femme. I wear pants and shirts but I like when my long curly hair is pretty (I don’t know how to style my own hair but I’d love to have queer hair while being painted) and I don’t like having facial hair.

How do you define gender?
The epitome of a misunderstood social construct. One that should only be defined by the person
who chooses to, or not define it for themselves; and not be some random assortment of standards
that is palatable for everyone else.
What color is your gender?
I would love to say orange because it’s my favorite. But its more like
camo in that it rarely ever is exactly the same.
Describe your gender identity.
The easiest way to put it is somewhere in the middle. I pretty obviously have the lived experience
of being assigned female at birth however the socially acceptable construct of femininity and I don’t mix. I’m just a regular queerdo who wakes up to be exactly what I feel like on any given morning.
Describe your gender expression.
Most would say masculine of center, and I would agree with that. If you asked my friends the
response you’d likely get is “pretty boi. ”Aesthetically, I do not lean into femininity or even believe that my feminine qualities need to be gendered. Socially I don’t know if I quite have an
answer without using words like “traditional” which frankly don’t apply to me.
